Plantation Owner Pride

We are involved every day in operations at the plantations.

Bananas flourish, nurtured every nine months. Quality is maintained through careful cleaning, pest control, and protective packaging. The Lulita Bananas signifies our commitment.

Growing bananas is a tropical endeavor, as they love warm climates. The process begins with the planting of a banana bulb or rhizome, which sprouts a stalk that eventually forms into a banana tree. This tree produces a stunning flower, usually after nine to twelve months, which then develops into a bunch of bananas. Once harvested, they don’t stop there; bananas continue to ripen after picking, which is why we often find them turning that perfect shade of yellow in our fruit bowls at home.

Just like with our pineapples, every step in the growing and ripening process is carefully managed to ensure you get the best tasting bananas.

fun fact

What we call a ‘bunch’ is technically known as a ‘hand’, and each individual banana is a ‘finger’! These hands of bananas mature in a matter of weeks, turning a tell-tale yellow as they ripen.
